Camping Pictures

I just uploaded 5 pictures from our camping trip.

141lb Snuggler

Well hello again!
It has been some time since I've taken time to put some thoughts down, but I figured after last nights excitement, I had to share.
We had another Thunder Storm last night, seems like we get an awful lot of those! About 1am a loud crack woke up the whole house and I decided to calmly sleep it off, at first. Then when it continued for a few minutes I decided to check on my people. They were wide awake, so I figured they were a little worried. Sooo, I decided to just climb up in bed with them. What can't a 141lb dog fix by snuggling? I think nothing...
So we snuggled in bed for a while until the thunderstorm passed and I quietly went back to my own bed. Those silly people worry about these little storms; don't forget, I survived a tornado all by myself!

Now to the topic of my weight, it has been discussed that I am getting a little chubby. I say I am very happy. I get to eat lots of snacks and yummy breakfast and dinner. I go for walks and play with my toys. I take lots of naps. Life is good. Plus, whats a couple extra lbs? Ok, Ok, I guess it might be denial, so I'll start exercising in the fall when it is a bit cooler out. (Sounds like procrastinating exercise, I think I know some people that do that!)

Well, back to napping on the floor in the office. I hope all my friends out there are doing well.

Mr. Magoo VS The Tornado: Magoo 1, Tornado 0

Well, I thought I didn't like thunder. Now I know, that isn't so bad. Tornados are SCARY!
I was home all by myself keeping watch on the house while Joe & Betsy were working and all of a sudden it was the worst storm I can remember. There was lots of lightning and lots of thunder. I decided it would be prudent to find somewhere safe in the house so I went to the sunroom to hide behind a chair. I suppose I wasn't hiding so much as taking cover. I'm not a wimp. After a few moment I realized there were too many windows and this room was a bit scary, so I bolted out of there and high tailed it for the bathroom. I then took cover in the bathroom during the worst of it. All I could hear were big booming thunder claps and these awful cracks and snaps. Then all of a sudden, my friend Pete who lives up the road came into the house. I was soooo happy to see him. He gave me lots of hugs and I gave him lots of kisses. He took me outside and it was crazy, there were all kinds of things blowing around and there were some trees that were snapped and laying on the ground. Pete gave me a bottle of water so that I wouldn't be thirsty and put me back in the house. I was very happy to have gotten a visitor, for a moment, I thought I might be the last living being on earth. I was very worried about Betsy and Joe as they had not yet returned home. I took it upon myself to keep watch of the house and make sure nothing happened. A little while later, Jean, my other friend from up the road, came down and fed me. It was a nice treat to have some people come and see me during this crazy time. I was getting lonely. She gave me lots of hugs and again, I returned with lots of kisses.

I was pretty worn out by this time, so I went ot bed for the night, but I was still worried about Joe & Betsy. The next morning, really early, I heard a little commotion in the front yard and then I heard my name! It was Joe & Betsy! They finally had made it home after waiting out the storm and then hiking through the jungle that was our road. I was so excited when they opened the door. They gave some really good hugs and as expected, I gave some really good kisses. I could barely contain myself. I was worried they got stuck under one of the snapping trees or sucked up into the swirling sky. But luckily, they were smart and stayed away from the storm until it blew over. I was just glad everyone was ok.

The next couple of days were pretty exciting, I got to lay on the front porch and watch lots of people walking by and cutting trees, fixing telephone poles and working not he power lines. A couple of people came by to say hi and I was very well behaved and didn't even slobber them too bad! Now I keep a real close eye on Joe & Betsy, I make sure they take me with them when they leave, I'd really rather not do another tornado alone!

I hope everyone else is well.

Still here and enjoying life!

Well, I've been called a few different names since my new life began here in Sturbridge, MA, but one of them certainly hasn't been blogger. Life is just too much fun to sit at a computer and type my thoughts. I'd rather play with my toys, gnaw on a bone, go for a walk, or my personal favorite: sleep anywhere and everywhere.

Since my last post, life has been great. I've been such a good boy; I no longer stress when Joe & Betsy leave, so I get to stay upstairs and keep a good watch on the house. I like to do this from behind the coffee table wedged next to the couch; that way no one will notice me if they come in the house and I can spy on them to make sure they are approved visitors. (I think I'd welcome just about anybody to this house though!)

I've made a couple of friends on the road; I'm not sure who they are, but I always smell them and occasionally get to see them. Their owners are a little nervous of me because I'm so intimidating. They know I'm a bid softy, but the other dogs seem to act a little crazy around me. Maybe it is just my dashing good looks! I do have one other dog friend though, his name is Chester. He is a nice golden retriever that played with me when we visited some family. He showed me around the yard and it was a great time. I got to wander about with no leash and visit all the people. I'm looking forward to the summer when my neighbors have promised that we'll get to be friends and get to know the other dogs; their names are Barkley and Bella, they are Beagles.

Joe & Betsy have taken a couple of trips since I've moved in. The fun part about this is my Aunt Kate or Uncle Justin comes to stay over and keep me company. I'm pretty sure I make the best company. Kate always takes lots of pictures and plays with me. Justin is a little different, but he likes to get on the floor with me. It makes it way better that I stay at my house when they leave.

I'll add some more pictures to the blog too; I'm still not very good at that, but I'm sure you can see the ones that are at the site here. Kate seems to be the only one with a camera, so we'll use her pictures. (Hint: Joe or Betsy should take some more shots of me! I am a handsome boy...)

Well, no promises, but I'll make an effort to blog a little more often. Rest assured, I love my new home, I love my new parents, and best of all, they love me too! I make it really easy on them because I'm not too messy or high maintenance, I think that makes everyone happy! (Plus, I get to sleep on the nice comfy rug whenever I want!)

Thats all for now, I hope all my fans enjoy the update.

Tata for now.

Thunder in the winter!

Hey everyone, it has been a while since my last update. Life has settled into a really nice routine with only a little adventure. I'm really happy to sleep on my bed and hang out at base of the couch not he comfy rug. These are the things I do most days now. Every now and again I get to do a little circle dancing and things like that.

Tonight though, there was thunder and lightning! This was a little scary, so I made sure to snuggle up close to Betsy and Joe. This was to protect them of course, I didn't want them to be scared at all. I'm a big tough dog, so it didn't scare me at all. I just like to keep a very close eye on the windows and make sure nothing is coming to get us.

To talk a little more about the weather, I'm glad it was warm this week. I spent a bit of time hanging out on the front porch taking in the surroundings and enjoying the balmy breeze that was blowing. Much better than that crazy cold and snow that we've been in for so long. I can't wait for spring. Joe says that we are going to get to explore the yard and hang out outside more. I can't wait.

My Foster Mom sent me a nice gift that showed up yesterday, it is a documentary of my first Halloween celebration last year! We haven't gotten to look at it yet, but I'm sure that we will this weekend. I can't wait. (Thanks FM!)

Betsy also went shopping yesterday and came home with a new toy for me. My favorite toys are always the new one. It is a big lion that makes a quack sound. Not sure why the lion quacks like a duck, but who am I to judge? It is nice and soft so it is a nice toy.

Well, I'm going to focus on making sure that there is no more lightning and keep everyone safe.

Until next time,

Updates on life

Well hello everyone!
It has been quite a while since I've updated. I guess life is just full of things to do and places to go. I'll tell you a few of the things that I've been up to and how things are going.

First of all, let me just say, the pantry is a great place. Every time Betsy or Joe goes to the pantry I follow them there and promptly sit down. I've learned that this increases my chances of getting a treat. It is wonderful. All I do is sit down and look VERY cute at them and they give me some treats. I've got them trained so well!

I also like to sleep at the base of the couch so that they can pet me when they watch TV or sit on the couch reading. I like to serenade them with my snoring of course.

We have been spending a lot of time in the basement doing work on making it more inhabitable. This was really fun because they were moving things around and lots of interesting things for me to check out and smell. It was like finding a whole other house to explore! The best part was I found a new sunny spot to lay down in while they did the heavy lifting.

I really like to play when they come home from work, usually I do some great rodeo moves of bucking and whipping around in a circle, but I can't go too crazy because their house isn't big enough for a big guy like me. (Well, it is way better than no house at all!)

I can't wait for spring. All this being cooped up in the house and having snow way over may head is ridiculous! You can't go exploring and can only walk where they shovel paths and stuff. Really a bummer. I'm not sure why they even live up here, what is this, the North Pole???

I guess there is more snow coming tonight, so I'm going to be really reluctant to go out in the morning, but I'll just wait until Joe shovels me a nice path.

I uploaded some more pictures, but I don't have my own camera, so I have to rely on Joe & Betsy to do it. They are lazy picture takers. Maybe when it warms up some I can get some good pictures in the yard.

I think that is all the rambling for now. I hope to write soon, but that probably means another week or two. I'm sure I'll have something exciting to talk about. I hear my Aunt Kate is coming to watch me in a couple of weeks! How fun!

I must be Houdini!

So, Joe & Betsy went to work again. I much prefer the days when Joe works from home, we go to the basement and play and nap. (Well, I nap at least.)

Yesterday, Joe went away to work and I was left at home in my crate. I really much prefer NOT being in my crate. So I got out. This time Joe had locked both latches, but that didn't matter. I'm just too good at getting out!

Again, I showed them that I am really a good boy when I'm home alone, I didn't make any messes, didn't chew on anything. Actually, I made sure Joe couldn't tell anything that I did the whole day! Right when he got home, we went outside and I went to the bathroom like a good boy. I just understand this whole house trained thing very well.

Last night, I even got to sleep outside my crate, I was much happier. I'm not sure, but for some reason I don't like sleeping in my crate anymore! I think Joe is thinking about putting it away for when I visit other people houses. (I like my crate much more when I'm in a strange place.)

What do you guys think? Should I just sleep in my crate or should I keep escaping to show that I like sleeping on my other bed?

Getting ready for a day of napping and working in the basement.
