Well hello everyone!
It has been quite a while since I've updated. I guess life is just full of things to do and places to go. I'll tell you a few of the things that I've been up to and how things are going.
First of all, let me just say, the pantry is a great place. Every time Betsy or Joe goes to the pantry I follow them there and promptly sit down. I've learned that this increases my chances of getting a treat. It is wonderful. All I do is sit down and look VERY cute at them and they give me some treats. I've got them trained so well!
I also like to sleep at the base of the couch so that they can pet me when they watch TV or sit on the couch reading. I like to serenade them with my snoring of course.
We have been spending a lot of time in the basement doing work on making it more inhabitable. This was really fun because they were moving things around and lots of interesting things for me to check out and smell. It was like finding a whole other house to explore! The best part was I found a new sunny spot to lay down in while they did the heavy lifting.
I really like to play when they come home from work, usually I do some great rodeo moves of bucking and whipping around in a circle, but I can't go too crazy because their house isn't big enough for a big guy like me. (Well, it is way better than no house at all!)
I can't wait for spring. All this being cooped up in the house and having snow way over may head is ridiculous! You can't go exploring and can only walk where they shovel paths and stuff. Really a bummer. I'm not sure why they even live up here, what is this, the North Pole???
I guess there is more snow coming tonight, so I'm going to be really reluctant to go out in the morning, but I'll just wait until Joe shovels me a nice path.
I uploaded some more pictures, but I don't have my own camera, so I have to rely on Joe & Betsy to do it. They are lazy picture takers. Maybe when it warms up some I can get some good pictures in the yard.
I think that is all the rambling for now. I hope to write soon, but that probably means another week or two. I'm sure I'll have something exciting to talk about. I hear my Aunt Kate is coming to watch me in a couple of weeks! How fun!

I must be Houdini!
So, Joe & Betsy went to work again. I much prefer the days when Joe works from home, we go to the basement and play and nap. (Well, I nap at least.)
Yesterday, Joe went away to work and I was left at home in my crate. I really much prefer NOT being in my crate. So I got out. This time Joe had locked both latches, but that didn't matter. I'm just too good at getting out!
Again, I showed them that I am really a good boy when I'm home alone, I didn't make any messes, didn't chew on anything. Actually, I made sure Joe couldn't tell anything that I did the whole day! Right when he got home, we went outside and I went to the bathroom like a good boy. I just understand this whole house trained thing very well.
Last night, I even got to sleep outside my crate, I was much happier. I'm not sure, but for some reason I don't like sleeping in my crate anymore! I think Joe is thinking about putting it away for when I visit other people houses. (I like my crate much more when I'm in a strange place.)
What do you guys think? Should I just sleep in my crate or should I keep escaping to show that I like sleeping on my other bed?

The Vet
So, earlier this week I got to go to the vet's office. Joe kept saying that we were going to get a checkup and see if I've been gaining any weight.
The whole experience was pretty exciting. First we went for a short car ride, and I do like to do that. Then we went into a strange building with lots and lots of smells. I checked everything out. There was also some small dogs and big dogs there. I was definitely the biggest though. Theyball wanted to say hi, but their parents didn't really want them to get to close. I think my big cuddly wrinkles must have intimidated them or something. Anyway, I was a good boy and just looked at them. I kind of wanted to say hi, but didn't push it. Then we waited around a little bit and Joe asked me to sit, so I did. I am really well behaved.
Then we got to go into the exam room. That was really fun. I got to meet two new friends and they petted me and let me saybhi and it was great. They weighed me and I am up go 120 pounds. I am much healthier and feel great. The doctor said that I was lucky because I am so happy and everyone can tell!
Afterwords, Joe and I went home and I took a long nap. It was a pretty darn good day. I look forward to going back whenever I need to. I wasn't even scary at all!
I will put up more stories from the week tomorrow, but for now I'm going to sleep.

Escape Artist
So today I decided to show just how smart I really am. Joe and Betsy were both out of the house this morning so I decided to show them some magic. They put me in my crate when they left and gave me my bone to gnaw on. This was fun for a little while, but then I got bored. I hatched a scheme to escape my confines and go lay on the comfy rug next to the couch. To Joe's surprise when he got home, there I was laying on the rug! I didn't cause any trouble, just escaped my crate! How clever am I? I'm sure now Joe will make sure to actually lock BOTH of the clasps because I am just to clever for one.
Yesterday I got a couple of visitors, I just love visitors. We played a little bit and I showed them my crazy circle dance, it was just so much fun. I hear this afternoon we are going to visit some of Betsy's coworkers who have just been super eager to meet me. I can't wait for the truck ride.
I'm going to go take another nap and get rested up, I'm sure it will be a fun and exciting afternoon!

New Year's Resolution
Well, I keep hearing all of this talk about resolutions and people losing weight and so forth. I'm not entirely sure what the reason behind all this is, but I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon. My New Year's resolution is going to be to post a few more blogs! I've been pretty lax about posting, so I'm resolving to do better. With this post I'll put up some pictures in the slide show that show some of my latest pictures.
New years was lots of fun. We went to the "grandparents" house and a bunch of people came over. It was pretty exciting, lots of food, some singing and some more food! I didn't get to eat any of the exciting stuff, but it sure did smell good!
Everyone is really impressed with how big and handsome I am. I think I even heard someone say I have such a nice jaw line! I'm not entirely sure what that one meant, but it sounded like a complement to me!
We stayed up real late and everyone cheered at midnight. I was pretty tired at that point, but I was up. When we got home the next day, I got a really exciting treat. It was from my old foster mom (not that my foster mom is old :) I got a bone that had all kinds of yummy stuff on the outside and even on the inside. I've spent most of my free moments gnawing away at it, it sure is fun.
As you can see in the pictures, one of my other Christmas gifts was a mold to make an ornament. It was kind of weird, they kept trying to push my paw into it, I just really wanted to eat it. Most things are better when eaten or at least licked. The paw print didn't come out great, but a picture of it is up on the slideshow.
We've got big plans to sit around the house today and watch some football. I've started to really like to lay at Joe's feet when he sits on the couch, that way he pets me from time to time. Life is good.
I'll try and take more pictures and keep up on the blog, after all, I did make a resolution. But, if this goes like most other resolutions, I'll probably be slacking off on this again soon! Feel free to send me reminders or comments and that will remind me to get it done!
