Truck Rides

On Wednesday this week Joe and I had some chores to get done. Joe and I went to the mall to do a little shopping, I got to wait in the car for a few minutes. Guess what, I took another nap! Then we went to see Uncle Bruce. He was working on the truck for some routine maintenance and I got to meet all his coworkers too! They all thought I was super cool and wanted to pet my head. Of course, I am such a gentleman I let them. I didn't even try and give too many high-fives.

I really like riding in the truck, that way I don't have to stay home alone and I get to explore new places. I hope that I get to go for more car rides soon.

Check out the slideshow, I added some pictures of my car rides!

Grandparents

So last weekend we went to my grandparents house. THey live in Connecticut. So I got my first ride in the pickup truck. This was a little weird at first because it isn't as cushy and comfy as a car, but I made do.

We took the trip down and went to a church, they were baking cookies in the basement. (They was a whole bunch of cousins and friends, I guess it is some kind of Christmas tradition.) Joe and I walked around outside for a bit and then we realized we forgot our cookies at home! I offered to drive home and get them, but Joe said that he should probably do the driving. I figured that would be ok, that way I could take a nap. So we went back home and got the cookies and had lunch and then went back to the church.

At the church we hung out and I got to meet everyone and hangout. Everyone was so impressed at how good I was with all the new people and yummy smells of cooking cookies! We had a really fun time.

Once cookie making and trading was done, we went to the grandparents house. I had been there before, but this time I could see a lot better and I wasn't as nervous, so I checked the place out and then took a nice nap.

We slept over and Joe and Betsy even slept right next to me! Well, only kind of. After about an hour they moved their air mattress to the next room, apparently I was sleeping too loudly. Something about my snoring again...

The next day we hung around and did some more exploring. It was really quite a good weekend and lots of people admired my wrinkly face and big paws. I think everyone thought I was the best! (I'm starting to think maybe I'm the coolest dog in the world!)

A Rainy Day

So I'm playing catch up on my blog. It has been very exciting to live in my new home, we're always doing something. But now I've got a quiet time and I'm going to spend a little time catching up on some of the more exciting things that have happened over the last few days.

Well, it was pouring here the other day, I mean pouring! Joe and I went outside in-between the heaviest of them so I could go to the bathroom. This was pretty nice because when we came inside, he rubbed me down with a towel so I didn't have to be wet. This was awesome, I really enjoy being rubbed with a towel; I stand there very still while he does it and don't even squirm on bit.

After a little TV time we went outside again before it was bedtime and Joe went back inside! He is such a wuss sometimes! Well, when I realized he wasn't coming back out to be with me, I decided to play a game of hide and seek. I ran off the porch and went and hung out underneath the shed! Luckily it has a nice den under there and I snuggled up in some leaves. Before long, Joe found me, he must have peeked while I was hiding.

So here I am hanging out in my nice cozy and DRY hideout under the shed and he starts asking if I want to go back inside. I'm thinking to myself, "and go back out into that rain, are you crazy?". So I just stared back it him with my cute face, and then waited until he crawled into my den. He brought me a treat though, so I let him in. We hung out for a couple of minutes and then I decided it would be OK to go inside. However, I made sure he knew that I didn't like to be left in the rain. I made him carry me. I just wouldn't move my feet. It is a good thing he is strong because I am gaining some weight and I'm no little guy!

I think Joe will think twice about putting me outside during the rain...otherwise he'll have to come to my den; which I suppose is OK, but only if he brings treats.

I hope it doesn't rain too much...I much prefer the sun!

More posts to come today...

Learning New Things

I've started to learn things. Joe has been saying this one word over and over, it sounds like sit. When he says this and is looking at me, I've set my butt and the ground and he goes crazy happy. I like ti when he gets happy also, he gives me a piece of jerky when I do it too! So far ive done it three times without him having to touch me. Very exciting.

Joe says we are going to work on this every day and then Maybe learn some new tricks.

I'll keep everyone updated as I learn new things!

Mr. Magoo's Dog Fart IPA

Well, I know it has taken me a while to update my blog, sorry about that. It is the holiday season and everything is crazy busy!

So last Saturday, it was Joe's birthday celebration and a few of his cousins and friends came over to hangout. We got to go spend some time in "the Shack" and it was a lot of fun. They were stirring this big pot of super smelly stuff, the kept saying something about brewing their own beer. It was very interesting smelling and I did my best to help. (both with the brewing and the general aroma of the air...)

Once we finished brewing, then we went and got some barbecue food from the local smokehouse. I didn't get to eat any, but from the smell of it, it was heavenly! After they all got to eat, we were all pretty full, I did get to eat too, just not the yummy stuff, we went into the other part of "the shack" and sat on some couches. I really slept pretty good and put my head on Joe's cousin Kevin's lap. It was really comfy.

They continued to play some cards and imbibe in a couple of store bought brews, so I decided to go get my own couch and took a nice nap.

All in all, it was a great time, got to meet some new people, and they even named the beer after me!

I will put up some pictures in another post.

Until next time,
Mr. Magoo

No lights!

So as every day comes along, I wonder what new things will happen. Today was no disappointment. After spending this morning in the office, snoozing and snoring, I guarded the house while Joe ran some errands. By the time he got home, the power had gone out. Luckily this wasn't too scary for me because I was just sleeping. It was pretty strange though. When they got home they didn't turn any lights on for me so I could see better and they were shining these bright little things around trying to find some candles. After a little while they got some really interesting smelling candles all going at once and we could see a little.

Then when we went outside and walked down the street. We saw why the power was out. There was some fire and some police cars and everything. It was pretty exciting for around here, usually not too much happens on the road during our walks. We found out that a tree had fallen on the power lines and snapped the lines. Luckily they got some people working on it and we got power back now.

I have some pictures, but didn't have a chance to add them tonight. I will do it tomorrow.

Thats all for now,
Magoo
